Wardrobe Spring Clean!
The one thing I’ve been asked most during this lock-down, is how to declutter your wardrobe while #stayingathome. Now’s a great time to show your wardrobe some TLC by detoxing it.
Without further ado, here are my top tips of how to efficiently declutter your wardrobe:
Bring out all your Spring/Summer clothes, shoes and accessories.
You’re going to need to be objective and very decisive when reviewing your wardrobe.
Ask yourself a few questions:
Do you like the item of clothing, shoes, accessories? Does it fit and flatter you? If the clothes are more than 1 size too big or small, please release them. (Holding onto clothes that don’t fit you, does nothing for your self-esteem)
Does the colour suit you? Are they your best colours?
How do you feel wearing the clothes? Are you comfortable in the clothes?
Is it dated?
If your answers to any of the above is no, then it’s time to let them go!
Create 4 piles to sort out your wardrobe: Keep, Sell, Give, Charity:
Keep pile are for clothes you love, that fit you well and make you feel good.
Sell high-end pieces that no longer fit or you like, that are in great condition.
Give clothes and accessories to friends or family members who you know will love them.
Charity pile for unwanted clothes in good condition that can go to another home.
Bag the Sell, Give and Charity piles and make the necessary arrangements….
Rearrange your keep pile in your wardrobe by occasion: Work, casual wear and special occasion.
*Remember, the aim of decluttering your wardrobe is that you have a capsule wardrobe of clothes you love to wear!
