As a Personal Stylist, I am an avid believer that style trumps fashion.  And so with London Fashion week 2019 in full swing, I’d love to shed some light on the differences between fashion and style.

  • Fashion is fleeting. Style is timeless.

  • Fashion says wear what’s on trend (even if it doesn’t suit you). Style says wear what flatters you.

  • Fashion says follow what everyone is wearing. Style says be unique and wear what suits your lifestyle and personality.

  • Fashion says buy it all! Style says be selective, create a capsule wardrobe of clothes you can wear numerous ways.

  • Fashion says wear it for a season. Style says wear it for years!

  • Fashion says wear this seasons colour. Style says find out your best colours and wear them.

  • Fashion says wear those uncomfortable shoes. Style says comfort is king!

  • Fashion says wear it even if it’s not you. Style says wear what makes you happy.

Fashion certainly has its place…..but for a timeless, flattering wardrobe of clothes that suit you; style always wins!
